Dr. Christine Asento is from a small agricultural town in upstate New York. She graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor’s of science degree in animal science in 2000 and lived for a time in Montana before moving to California. She then graduated from Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Dr. Asento joined Care Veterinary Clinic 2010, where she enjoys working with many different types of pets, from house cats to working dogs, each patient an important member of his or her loving family.

Dr. Nathan Sunderson grew up in Fresno and graduated from CSU Fresno with biology and chemistry degrees. He first developed his interest in veterinary medicine while working at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo’s animal hospital. He graduated from UC Davis veterinary school in 2013. He previously practiced as a large and small animal veterinarian before being drawn to companion animal medicine exclusively. He enjoys cycling, camping, backpacking, and other outdoor activities with his wife and young son.

Dr. Melissa Belknap
Dr. Melissa Belknap was born and raised in Newport Beach, California. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Arizona, and although she has always loved animals, she didn’t seriously consider veterinary school until after graduation. At that time she got her first job in the field as a receptionist at a local animal hospital and loved it. She went back to college to take prerequisite courses while working in two animal hospitals and volunteering in a sea bird rehabilitation center. She then chose Kansas State University and earned her veterinary degree in 2008. Dr. Belknap recently moved to Visalia with her husband and two daughters in order to be closer to his family. She enjoys all aspects of general practice, especially creating trusting relationships with clients. When not working, she is raising her kids. If she ever finds time alone,
she’ll do yoga or read a book with her cat Nicky on her lap.

Dr. Melissa Neu is a native of the Central Valley and grew up on her family’s almond farm in Livingston. Growing up in the country, animals always found their way to her home so she quickly discovered her passion for helping animals at a young age. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from CSU Sacramento and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Neu’s special interests include small mammals and geriatric care. She recently moved to Tulare with her husband, 3 dogs, and rabbit. Dr. Melissa Martin was born and raised in Tulare, CA. She graduated from Fresno State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science before moving away to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Christopher. Dr. Martin joined Care Veterinary Clinic following graduation and is interested in working with all types of animals including exotics and pocket pets.
