Meet Our Veterinarians
Dr. Bryan Proctor
Dr. Bryan Proctor has been in private practice since graduating from Texas A&M University in 1993. While at Texas A&M, Dr. Proctor earned a bachelor of science in both biomedical science and veterinary science before graduating with a degree in veterinary medicine. He has interests in small animal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Christine Asento
Dr. Christine Asento is from a small agricultural town in upstate New York. She graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor's of science degree in animal science in 2000 and lived for a time in Montana before moving to California. She then graduated from Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Dr. Asento joined Care Veterinary Clinic 2010, where she enjoys working with many different types of pets, from house cats to working dogs, each patient an important member of his or her loving family.
Dr. Marianne Krumheuer
Dr. Marianne Krumheuer is a native of the Central Valley, born and raised in Bakersfield, California. She received both bachelor's of science and doctorate of veterinary medicine from UC Davis. Upon graduation, she accepted a position as an associate veterinarian at the Care Veterinary Clinics. During veterinary school, Dr. Krumheuer participated in several humanitarian trips to foreign countries, where she worked to treat animals that do not normally have access to veterinary care.
Dr. Krumheuer is most passionate about working to develop and preserve the human–animal bond. Her special interests include internal medicine and dentistry. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Krumheuer enjoys hiking and camping with her husband and their dog, Cody.
Dr. Nathan Sunderson
Dr. Nathan Sunderson grew up in Fresno, California and completed his undergraduate degree at CSU, Fresno. He first developed his interest and passion for veterinary medicine while working at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo's animal hospital. He attended veterinary school at UC Davis and graduated in 2013. He previously practiced as a large and small animal veterinarian before being drawn to companion animal medicine exclusively. He enjoys cycling, hiking, and working on cars.
Dr. Melissa Belknap
Dr. Melissa Belknap was born and raised in Newport Beach, California. She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of Arizona, and although she has always loved animals, she didn't seriously consider veterinary school until after graduation. At that time she got her first job in the field as a receptionist at a local animal hospital and loved it. She went back to college to take prerequisite courses while working in two animal hospitals and volunteering in a sea bird rehabilitation center. She then chose Kansas State University and earned her veterinary degree in 2008. Dr. Belknap recently moved to Visalia with her husband and two daughters in order to be closer to his family. She enjoys all aspects of general practice, especially creating trusting relationships with clients. When not working, she is raising her kids. If she ever finds time alone, she'll do yoga or read a book with her cat Nicky on her lap.
Dr. Melissa Neu
Dr. Melissa Neu is a native of the Central Valley and grew up on her family’s almond farm in Livingston. Growing up in the country, animals always found their way to her home so she quickly discovered her passion for helping animals at a young age. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from CSU Sacramento and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Neu’s special interests include small mammals and geriatric care. She recently moved to Tulare with her husband, 3 dogs, and rabbit. Outside of veterinary medicine she loves being outdoors, hiking, and traveling!
Dr. Jaime Lee
Dr. Jaime Lee is originally from Southern California and earned her Bachelor's degree in Animal Biology from UC Davis. She moved to Kansas and received her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Kansas State University. Dr. Lee has had previous experience working and volunteering in zoos, wildlife rehabilitation centers, and humanitarian trips to underserved areas with minimal access to veterinary care. She is dedicated to enriching the human animal bond between people and their pets, and has special interests in exotic animal medicine and small animal internal medicine. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, trying new types of cuisines, and kicking back in a hammock with a good book.
Dr. Melissa Martin
Dr. Melissa Martin was born and raised in Tulare, CA. She graduated from Fresno State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science before moving away to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Christopher. Dr. Martin joined Care Veterinary Clinic following graduation and is interested in working with all types of animals including exotics and pocket pets. In her down time she likes to read notes and spend quiet time at home with her Border Collie and two cats.
Meet Our Friendly Staff
Amanda is the pharmacy technician at Care Veterinary Clinic. She has been employed at Care since 2007. Amanda has two Yorkies named Ozzy and Lola. Amanda is also a big fan of Persian and Himalayan cats. She was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, and has been married since 2011. In her spare time, she enjoys going on motorcycle rides with her husband. She is also an avid Oakland Raiders fan.
Caitlan has been at Care since April 2012. She graduated from Cal Poly, SLO in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science and got her RVT license in November of 2015. Cait has three cats: Rory, Luna, and Ray and two dogs: Jane Doe and Sherlock. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, reading, and adding to her succulent collection.
Jennifer joined the Care team as a veterinary assistant in October 2015. Even though Jennifer was born thousands of miles away in Hawaii, she grew up in Visalia and graduated from Redwood High School. She attended and graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Future goals include pursuing a career as a Small Animal Veterinarian. Jennifer has always loved animals, especially cats. Nikki, Kai, and Jordan are three very lucky felines that make up Jennifer's animal family. Jennifer is very family oriented and loves spending time with her family and friends. When asked what is one unique thing about you, Jennifer stated, "I love painting nails and I have over 121 nail polishes---and my collection is still growing!"
Jaci has been with us since 2015 and in the industry since 2012. Jaci has finished her RVT courses and plans to become licensed before the end of 2018. Jaci is a proud wife and mother of 3 children, 2 step daughters and fur baby named Yoshi. In Jaci's free time she likes to spend time with her family, deep sea ocean fishing and camping.
Becky has been a familiar face at Care since 2003. Becky has worked at both Care Veterinary Clinic and Care at the Courtyard Veterinary Clinic. Her popularity with clients has resulted in some clients switching hospital locations just so they could see "Becky". Her family is large and includes a husband, 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 3 canine children. When not at work, Becky loves family time! She also enjoys camping and NASCAR.
Sam has been with Care since 2015. She came to us from Fresno Vet Specialty and Emergency Center in Fresno. Sam has special interests in food and nutrition as well as dental procedures and anesthesia. Sam was born and raised in Hanford, CA where she now lives with her Fiance' Tyler and son Kaden. When not at work Sam enjoys watching her son play sports and spending time with her family as well as their has 3 dogs (Ali, Prim, & Lady).
Jaime moved to Visalia from the Bay Area when she was in the 6th grade. Before joining Care as a receptionist, Jaime worked at Toys R Us as a manager for 6 years. Her lifelong passion to work with animals is what lead her to Care Veterinary Clinic. As a child she could only have birds, since family members had allergies to pet fur. She and her boyfriend have a chocolate lab named Yogi, after Yogi Bear. When not at work, Jaime loves being with family and spending time outdoors.
Kayla was born and raised in the Central Valley. She has always had the passion to work in the veterinary field ever sine she was five years old. Kayla has raised and showed swine all throughout her high school years and one year in college. Kayla achieved certificates in Ag Business and Animal Science. Kayla hopes to one day work with larger animals. Free time activities include, spending time with family and friends, binge watching the Golden Girls and spontaneous beach trips. Kayla is also a dog mom to her dog Reckless and her crazy dog Claire.
Amanda has been with Care since September 2017 as a Veterinary Assistant. She comes to us with 5 years previous Veterinary experience and an AS in Veterinary Technology. Her family consists of a loving husband and two cats, Rambo and Rocky. In her spare time she enjoys reading, watching musicals and Disney movies, and spending time with family.
Katie was born and raised in Tulare and graduated from Tulare Western High School. She obtained an AS degree in Animal Science at COS with a goal of becoming an RVT. In her spare time she enjoys anything outdoors such as camping and riding her horses.
Samantha graduated from San Joaquin Valley College with an AS in 2015. Samantha has worked in shelter medicine and has also worked with a feline only shelter/rescue facility. She is currently studying to be a registered veterinary technician. In her free time, she enjoys to read, going to the movies, or going out to eat. She also has an interest in ballet, painting & crafting. Samantha has her own furry family that includes cats, dogs, and a turtle at home.
Kelsey was born and raised in Tulare, CA. She was raised around Agriculture and has been around large and small animals her whole life. She is currently working towards her registered veterinary technician degree. Her future goal is to work with both large and small animals. In Kelsey's spare time, she enjoys being with her husband and their two sons, and volunteering at the Tulare City shelter.
Ashley is a Santa Cruz native that came to Visalia in 2015. She has been in the veterinary field for over 5 years. She just finished the Veterinary Technician program at San Joaquin Valley College in Fresno with a 4.0 GPA. She also has an AS in Animal Science. In her free time she enjoys cooking, spending time with her family, and playing Skyrim.
Brandy was born and raised in Porterville. CA. She graduated from San Joaquin Valley College with an AS in Veterinary Technology. She loves spending time with her fiance and their son during her free time. Brandy is a proud owner of a cat named Blossom and a dog named Kion who are best buds. Brandy loves any and everything Disney.
