Meet Our Veterinarians
Dr. Bryan Proctor
Dr. Bryan Proctor has been in private practice since graduating from Texas A&M University in 1993. While at Texas A&M, Dr. Proctor earned a bachelor of science in both biomedical science and veterinary science before graduating with a degree in veterinary medicine. He has interests in small animal medicine and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Kristy Peterson
Dr. Kristy Peterson was born and raised in Visalia, California. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of California at Irvine and received her degree in biology. She graduated from the University of California at Davis Veterinary School in 2004. She then moved back to Visalia and started working as a small animal practitioner for Care Veterinary Clinic. Her special interests include emergency medicine and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Peterson's primary focus is dogs and cats, but she also examines an occasional rabbit, guinea pig, or rat.
Dr. Christine Asento
Dr. Christine Asento is from a small agricultural town in upstate New York. She graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor's of science degree in animal science in 2000 and lived for a time in Montana before moving to California. She then graduated from Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. Dr. Asento joined Care Veterinary Clinic 2010, where she enjoys working with many different types of pets, from house cats to working dogs, each patient an important member of his or her loving family.
Dr. Marianne Krumheuer
Dr. Marianne Krumheuer is a native of the Central Valley, born and raised in Bakersfield, California. She received both bachelor's of science and doctorate of veterinary medicine from UC Davis. Upon graduation, she accepted a position as an associate veterinarian at the Care Veterinary Clinics. During veterinary school, Dr. Krumheuer participated in several humanitarian trips to foreign countries, where she worked to treat animals that do not normally have access to veterinary care.
Dr. Krumheuer is most passionate about working to develop and preserve the human–animal bond. Her special interests include internal medicine and dentistry. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Krumheuer enjoys hiking and camping with her husband and their dog, Cody.
Dr. Nathan Sunderson
Dr. Nathan Sunderson grew up in Fresno, California and completed his undergraduate degree at CSU, Fresno. He first developed his interest and passion for veterinary medicine while working at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo's animal hospital. He attended veterinary school at UC Davis and graduated in 2013. He previously practiced as a large and small animal veterinarian before being drawn to companion animal medicine exclusively. He enjoys cycling, hiking, and working on cars.
Dr. Melissa Belknap
Dr. Melissa Belknap was born and raised in Newport Beach, California. She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology at the University of Arizona, and although she has always loved animals, she didn't seriously consider veterinary school until after graduation. At that time she got her first job in the field as a receptionist at a local animal hospital and loved it. She went back to college to take prerequisite courses while working in two animal hospitals and volunteering in a sea bird rehabilitation center. She then chose Kansas State University and earned her veterinary degree in 2008. Dr. Belknap recently moved to Visalia with her husband and two daughters in order to be closer to his family. She enjoys all aspects of general practice, especially creating trusting relationships with clients. When not working, she is raising her kids. If she ever finds time alone, she'll do yoga or read a book with her cat Nicky on her lap.
Dr. Melissa Neu
Dr. Melissa Neu is a native of the Central Valley and grew up on her family’s almond farm in Livingston. Growing up in the country, animals always found their way to her home so she quickly discovered her passion for helping animals at a young age. She received her Bachelor’s of Science degree from CSU Sacramento and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Neu’s special interests include small mammals and geriatric care. She recently moved to Tulare with her husband, 3 dogs, and rabbit. Outside of veterinary medicine she loves being outdoors, hiking, and traveling!
Meet Our Friendly Staff
Janean was born and raised in Oklahoma but has resided in California for the past twenty years. She has been employed as a veterinary receptionist with Care Veterinary Clinic since 2006. She enjoys bowling, playing softball, and reading. She is married with four beautiful children and two wonderful grandchildren. Although she loves all animals, she is partial to Boxers. She currently has two Boxers, Jake and Bailey, along with two cats, Sox and Miss Kitty. She has been working in the veterinary field since she was eighteen years old and says she couldn't ask for a more rewarding career.
Amanda is the pharmacy technician at Care Veterinary Clinic. She has been employed at Care since 2007. Amanda has two Yorkies named Ozzy and Lola. Amanda is also a big fan of Persian and Himalayan cats. She was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, and has been married since 2011. In her spare time, she enjoys going on motorcycle rides with her husband. She is also an avid Oakland Raiders fan.
Jiny has an extensive background in veterinary medicine and has worked in the veterinary field for over 20 years. She has been with Care at the Courtyard since 2007, and is currently working as a receptionist at Care. Jiny works hard to keep the clinic running smoothly, and she is also a compulsive cleaner and organizer. She has two Golden Retrievers, Posey and Khloe, along with three cats, Penquin, Rozland, and Vaca. When not dedicating herself to the veterinary profession, Jiny enjoys all the projects associated with being a first time homeowner.
Caitlan has been at Care since 2011. She graduated from Cal Poly in 2010 with a BS in Animal Science. Currently, Caitlan is taking online courses in order to obtain her certification to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. She loves cats, and currently has three kittens. In her spare time, Caitlan enjoys reading.
Tara has been a native Visalian since birth and has worked at Care Veterinary Clinic since 2013. She loves all animals. She is very handy around the clinic as she is able to assist both the assistants and the receptionists. She has a cat named Misty and a dog named Goliath. In her spare time, Tara loves spending time with her family and her pets.
Jennifer joined the Care team as a veterinary assistant in October 2015. Even though Jennifer was born thousands of miles away in Hawaii, she grew up in Visalia and graduated from Redwood High School. She attended and graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Future goals include pursuing a career as a Small Animal Veterinarian. Jennier has always loved animals, especially cats. Nikki, Kai, and Jordan are three very lucky felines that make up Jennifer's animal family. Jennifer is very family oriented and loves spending time with her family and friends. When asked what is one unique thing about you, Jennifer stated, "I love painting nails and I have over 121 nail polishes---and my collection is still growing!"
Jaci has been in the animal filed since 2012. She was born and raised in Visalia and graduated from Mt. Whitney High School. Jaclyn has plans on earning her Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) degree. She also has aspirations to open a hair salon and do makeup. 3 children, 2 step daughters, a loving husband, and a 6 year old Pitbull fur baby named Yoshi make for a wonderful but very busy life. In any spare time, Jaci loves to play guitar, sing, and spend time outdoors.
Ashley is one of Care Veterinary Clinic’s newest receptionists. She has worked in the veterinary field for 2 years. A coastal native, growing up in San Diego, Ashley has recently moved to the area from Santa Cruz. She has aspirations to be a Registered Veterinary Technician. Ashley calls herself a “fur mommy” to two pups and she enjoys reading, hiking, photography, and playing musical instruments. Yosemite is her favorite place in the whole world.
Becky has been a familiar face at Care since 2003. Becky has worked at both Care Veterinary Clinic and Care at the Courtyard Veterinary Clinic. Her popularity with clients has resulted in some clients switching hospital locations just so they could see "Becky". Her family is large and includes a husband, 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and 3 canine children. When not at work, Becky loves family time! She also enjoys camping and NASCAR.
Sam got her start with the Care Family by working as a receptionist at Care at the Courtyard. She now enjoys being a veterinary assistant at Care Veterinary Clinic. Sam grew up in Hanford and enjoys spending time with her son and her 3 dogs. She enjoys camping in the mountains and the nearby lakes. She also enjoys listening to country music, and notes that Carrie Underwood and Martina Mcbride are two of her favorite artists.
Oriana joined the reception staff at Care just before Thanksgiving of 2016. She graduated from Redwood High School in Visalia and currently attends College of the Sequoias. Oriana has aspirations of transferring to University California Davis to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. When not at work or at school, Oriana loves spending time with friends, family, and with her dog Mila. When she is able to get away, she can be found at Disneyland.
Yessica is a recent addition to Care Veterinary Clinic. She works as a receptionist, and she says she loves working in a place where she is able to see how much love humans have for their animal family members. A loving husband, three human children, and a bulldog make up Yessica's familly. Yessica enjoys client interaction, and she looks forward to getting to know our clients and patients so she can greet them by name. Prior to her joining Care, Yessica worked at Tulare County Animal Shelter. Future aspirations include continuing her education to become a Registered Veterinary Technician.
Jaime moved to Visalia from the Bay Area when she was in the 6th grade. Before joining Care as a receptionist, Jaime worked at Toys R Us. Her lifelong passion to work with animals is what lead her to Care Veterinary Clinic. As a child she could only have birds, since family members had allergies to pet fur. She and her boyfriend now have a new chocolate lab puppy named Yogi, after Yogi Bear. When not at work, Jaime loves spending time with family members and loves enjoying the outdoors.
